Sola Wood Flower FAQ

When correctly cared for, sola wood flowers last for a very long time! Keep them in a cool, dry place and remove them from the bag as soon as they arrive. If you dye your flowers, try to keep them out of direct sunlight and humid rooms.
Sola wood flowers are made of sustainably farmed sholapith - which is a soft, fast growing plant. They are soft, and almost foam-like in feel. We offer our flowers both with bark - known as skin flowers - or without the bark.
We offer predyed sola wood flowers via our dyed assortments or we can even custom dye them for you. Head over to our raw assortments, pick a specific raw assortment, and you'll see the option to pick your colors. We'll take care of the rest and dye them by hand in Ogden, Utah.
Flowers do not come with stems - but we do offer stems! You can find bamboo stems here and wire here. We also offer stem covers, which some of our customers like using for a more realistic look.
Flowers are availabile in a variety of sizes. Most flowers are available in 1", 1.5", 2" and 3" sizes. We have filters on the left hand side of our site which allow you view flowers by size. You'll see the filter appear in sections like our 10 pack collection of sola wood flowers.
Sola wood flowers are made by hand out of sholapith. A soft fast-growing wood. Once turned into flexible sheets, the flowers are then hand-folded into various shapes. Our entirely hand-made process is why all flowers are different.

Most customers use our sola dye to color their flowers and our sola softener to ensure they retain their squishy feel.

Sola softener locks in moisture when coloring your flowers and keeps your flower soft and squishy - even after they've been dyed! All of our predyed and custom dyed assortments use sola softener to ensure they stay soft. You can find sola softener here.
Yes! Our flowers are made of fast-growing replenishible sholapith wood.
Yes but they may run into issues over time if exposed to severe heat, water or humidity. Some customers apply clear coat if they want to keep their flowers outdoors.
Yes. They retain scents for a long period of time, and can be rescented if needed.
Non-custom orders ship same day or next day. Custom orders may take up to 3 - 5 days to ship - usually on the shorter end of that. We offer a variety of shipping options at checkout.
Our flowers are relatively soft and made entirely by hand. They may lose a bit of shape but fear not, this can easily be fixed by fluffing the flowers. You can find out how with our free sola wood crafting tutorials!
