Using Raw Flowers To Decorate Your Wall Decor
Written by Lina Burnett
Check out this easy step-by-step tutorial on how to decorate a wood print from Sola Wood Flowers.
______________
INGREDIENTS
______________
- Raw Sola Wood Flower Assortment
- Sola Wood Prints
- Craft Paint
- Sola Softener
- Greenery (optional)
- Paint Brush
- Glue Gun
- Glue Sticks
______________
STEP 1
Dye Flowers
______________
In a bowl, mix your paint with water and add a spoon full of sola softener. The more dye you add, the more potent your colors will be! Leave the flowers out to dry for 24 - 48 hours, or until the pigment doesn’t transfer onto your fingers.
TIP - I left some flowers with their natural wood color because they are beautiful and add a natural and soft feel to the finished product.

STEP 2
Bring In The Wall Decor!
______________
I laid out the flowers on my wood cutout to map out what the finished product would look like. The greenery really ties the whole piece together and adds a pop of natural color. By using a raw flower assortment, I was able to choose dye colors that matched my little girl’s room perfectly.

STEP 3
Glue The Flowers
______________
Using your glue gun, dab a dot of glue on the bottom of the flower. Hold it down onto the wood board for 10 seconds before moving onto the next flower. Try not to move the flowers too much after gluing them down to allow them to dry on properly
TIP - Wait a few hours to attach the cutout to your wall. You want to glue to fully set so the flowers don’t fall!
