Sweetheart Table Wedding Centerpiece Tutorial

In this tutorial, we will show another version of a couple’s table decor. We are creating a spray low arrangement that’s perfect for a sweetheart table. Low so it doesn’t obscure the couple’s view, yet lush and full making it one of the focal pieces in the overall styling.  We hope you enjoy!

FLORAL SUPPLIES AND TOOLS NEEDED

STEP 1: PREPARE THE MATERIALS

Create an arrangement that matches your wedding theme. You can buy one of our pre-dyed assortments HERE or choose to color your own flowers. Check our How to Dye post for a step-by-step tutorial that’s super easy to follow.

If this is your first time stemming sola wood flowers, please check our How to Stem Tutorial. You will learn different techniques in stemming using floral wire or bamboo stems.

STEP 2: ARRANGE THE FLOWERS

When preparing the floral foam base, keep in mind that we want the foam to loosely replicate the final shape of our arrangement. For this project, we’re going for a compact elongated piece. It is best that we use the whole block.

Start inserting a flower on each side of the floral foam. This first step will set the length of the spray arrangement. Evenly space the flowers around the base and top.

Add more flowers allowing acceptable spaces in between. The bottom blooms should face downward and the top upward. The spaces will be filled with accents in the next step.

STEP 3: ADD GREENERY AND FILLERS

Fill in any holes or bare spaces with filler flowers starting with wider greenery such as silver-dollar eucalyptus. A few bunches of these can easily cover bigger spaces.

Next, add in dried caspia flowers. These will not only give volume but also lend the spray a softer and daintier look.

Add more greenery. This time, we got leather ferns and willow eucalyptus. Aim for balance and symmetry as you go.

Beef up the piece by adding more foliage. Insert foxtail or wheatgrass throughout making it compact, but still looking loose and natural.

Set your table. You may complement the spray arrangement with soft linen drapery, candles, lamps and other decorative elements.

Done! What better way to express your love than with a sweetheart table decorated with forever Sola Wood Flowers.
