STEP 1: STEM THE FLOWERS

Learn how to stem wood flowers like a pro in this Tutorial. For this arrangement, we’ll need both short and long stem flowers.

STEP 1: PREPARE THE WOOD PANEL

A wedding backdrop is one of the best focal areas in a wedding venue. For this tutorial, we’ll be using one small panel that’s perfect for a photobooth. If you plan to use it as a background for the couple’s table, you can replicate the design on another panel.

Using a straw or zip-tie, attach the floral foams to the left corner and top part of the panel. Tie the floral foams tightly so they don’t shift or move easily.

STEP 3: ARRANGE THE FLOWERS

Start with the flowers. We want to highlight the Sola Wood Flowers in this arrangement so we are using minimal greenery and fillers. For future tutorials, however, we will be creating different styles and designs to fit any theme.

Use longer stems to fill the perimeter of the foam base. This will help elongate the arrangement.

Add more flowers. Distribute these along the foam and make sure they have different stem lengths to help create depth.

STEP 4: ADD FILLERS

If you are happy with the shape and balance of the flowers, it’s time to add greenery and other fillers.

Dried grasses such as wheat, foxtail, and bunny tail are wedding staples for boho rustic pieces. Sow these throughout the “foam fields”. Position them to face different directions giving the arrangement a natural look.

Keep layering in other varieties of fillers. Dried Gypsophila or Baby’s breath and Caspia are awesome accents that lend a softening effect to any floral arrangement.

Continue adding more greens. We have club moss and other foliage to fill in the gaps. Make sure to conceal the foam and other mechanics.

Keep adding volume until you feel like the arrangement is full and looks good from a distance. The flowers and fillers are lightweight so you don’t need to worry about adding too much.

STEP 5: SET UP

You can stop here for a minimalistic look or add other elements such as lights, monograms, or extra greenery. We have faux eucalyptus vines available so we might as well go ahead and line all the edges of the panel with foliage.

Set up the backdrop and have fun!
