DIY Pallet Wood Heart with Sola Wood Flowers
What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than to put your heart out there? Make a pallet wood heart and decorate it with Sola Wood Flowers. It’s a perfect way to add a loving touch to any room in your home, or gift it to your loved ones.
Floral Supplies and Tools Needed
- Sola Wood Flowers
- Pallet Wood Heart ( 18" x 16")
- Glue Gun
- Glue Stick
- Sola Dye
STEP 1: PREPARE THE MATERIALS NEEDED
If you’re not confident in your drawing skills you can make a heart template first then trace it on the board. Heart shapes are simple enough to free-hand and even if they don’t turn out perfect, you can always adjust the position of the flowers.
You may choose to use all white or ivory flowers similar to this KIT but because this is a Valentine’s Day project, we will be using different shades of pink, peach, and red.
Check out this How To Dye Sola Wood Flowers tutorial. You will learn the basic steps of using sola dye to color the flowers.
STEP 2: FILL YOUR HEART WITH FLOWERS
You can start gluing flowers from the edges or build the heart from the center out.
Squeeze a dab of glue at the back of the flower and position it at the very center of the heart drawing. This will be your focal piece.
Continue adding flowers making sure to evenly distribute the colors, shapes, and styles of the flowers. Using different-sized blooms will make the heart more interesting with texture and depth.
Your heart is almost done. Use the smaller-sized flowers to fill-in the gaps. You can go a step further and add fillers & greenery.
Success! You have made a truly unique and low-cost pallet flower heart! A perfect home décor and gift your loved ones will appreciate.
