DIY Sola Wood Flower Dog Collar

Here’s a must-have pet essential if you wish to include your fur baby in your wedding entourage. Your pup will definitely be the most precious furry ring bearer with the most adorable flower collar

FLORAL SUPPLIES AND TOOLS NEEDED

We are making a minimalistic floral collar using only one sola wood flower for today’s tutorial. We will do a fuller version with more flowers in our next DIY project.

STEP 1: PREPARE THE MATERIALS

Get our star pup prepped and comfortable for our shoot.

STEP 2: DYE THE SOLA WOOD FLOWER

Pour water into a bowl. Add the sola dye and mix well. Your dye bath is now ready.

Dip-dye the flowers. Let them dry for at least 24 hours.

Check this How To Dye Sola Wood Flowers tutorial. You will learn the basic steps of using sola dye to color the flowers.

STEP 3: MAKE THE COLLAR

You can buy a ready to use dog collar that is the appropriate size for your pup. For this project; however, we are using a handmade choker collar.

We are using a burlap strap for our choker. Punch a hole at both ends of the strap.

Put a dab of glue at the back of the flower.

Attach the flower immediately in the middle of the strap while the glue is still hot. Hold it in place making sure it is secured properly.

Insert a ribbon in each of the holes then knot tightly.

Strap the floral collar on the dog’s neck.

You don’t want it to be too loose or too tight, so adjust accordingly. Using a ribbon to tie makes this collar one-size-fits-all. You can easily loosen or tighten the ribbon as needed.

Simply adorable!
